In a surgical setting, Doppler probes are crucial for properly checking patient blood flow after operations. It’s common for traditional probe sensors to malfunction due to repeated sterilization, causing a source of anxiety for you and your medical team. Not only do non-functional probes cause chaos in the OR, but their unreliability also costs you time and money.
A 2019 study calculated from FY2016 Inpatient Claims Data for Revenue Code shows that diagnosing and replacing malfunctioning probes intraoperatively wastes valuable OR time. And on average, surgical staff reported seven minutes of lost OR time due to Doppler probe malfunctions, which increased surgical procedure costs by $108 per minute. Malfunctioning probes also cause patients to needlessly be kept under sedation for an additional period of time.
With VascuChek®’s reliable, cost-effective Doppler probes for surgical and clinical uses, you get a modern, user-friendly sensor that gives you an accurate blood flow reading every time without costly interruptions.
The VascuChek®’s Doppler probes for surgical use are single-use sensors manufactured for use in sterile fields. The detachable probe includes a sheath to cover the transceiver. You can purchase the VascuChek®’s disposable Doppler probes for surgical procedures, with 40 sterile Doppler probes in each case. Four boxes of probes come in one case, giving you 10 disposable Doppler probes per box.
Remington makes it more cost effective to purchase probes for clinical use on an as-needed basis. Our clinical probes don’t require a sheath, and connecting a probe for non-sterile use is as simple as clicking it into place.
Gone are the days where your circulating nurse is forced to hold bulky, outdated equipment above the sterile field and close to your ear. Take complete control and listen to blood flow clearly with the VascuChek® innovative Doppler probe technology.
Connecting a Doppler probe to the VascuChek® transceiver is seamless, and we make sure you understand each step. That’s why we offer complete training to ensure accurate Doppler probe connectivity for surgical and clinical screenings.
The VascuChek®’s clinical Doppler probe connectivity is as simple as inserting the transceiver into the open end of the probe and pressing it until it clicks into place. Connecting the surgical probe with our patented sheath requires a few more steps, but Remington helps you learn them along the way:
And just like that, you’re ready to use the Remington VascuChek® Doppler system.
